Update On Andy

Andy is out of surgery and doing well. The Dr. said the navigation system worked perfectly and they were able to remove all of the tumor. (they think) The Dr. said he would call it a gross total resection. He sent samples to IU and we should know more in a couple weeks. Andy will get his staples out in 10 -14 days as well as have a head CT in the morning an an MRI within 24 hours.
He is waking up. His left side is moving fine but his right side is a little weak. The Dr. said not to worry or panic, sometimes just working in that area stuns the brain and it will take awhile for it to catch up....maybe a couple of days. So please pray that the right side of Andy's body catches up in movement and strength so no therapy would be necessary. As well as his speech would be fine...he understands everything the Dr. is saying but is not talking himself...pray for that too.

I have not been able to see him yet, but hopefully will be able to in an hour or so. He is being preped to be moved to ICU.

More later.

Hi! I just came to your blog from Kelly's (Harpers') blog. I'm excited to see that you are from Indy. I am east of Indy near Greenfield. I wanted to let you know that if you need anything, please feel free to ask me- I don't know you, but I'd love to help you if you have a need. Not sure whether you have family close or anything...since I don't know you :)
I am praying for your husband, specifically petitioning to God for good news and to regain function of the right side. Also praying for peace and sustanance for you.
Please take care of yourself and seriously, I am more than willing to help you if you need anything, please ask.

I came over here after reading the prayer request on Kelly's blog. I just went back and read your blog from the beginning. This has certainly been a rough time for both of you. I will be adding you both to my prayer list. I know that you are trusting in the Lord and HE will give you the grace to get through this. Also praying that you will have an easy delivery when Rigg arrives and that he will be a healthy baby. Prayerfully and sincerely

hi I'm visiting from Kelly's page and wanted to let you know you are not alone, we are praying for you and your faith in Him is inmeasurable!

I am so happy to hear that the surgery went well.

I was reading some previous posts and in one in particular, you stated that God reminds you you are not in control and He reminds you whatever "it" is, it is for His glory. I have to repeat that to myself a lot--sometimes more frequently but in its simplicity, it grounds me.

I came across your blog from Kelly's Corner and what you are going through with your husband brings back so many memories. My husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor last June. His was malignant, but was thankfully totally removed. He has completed chemo and radiation and is now cancer free.

My husband's was found after severe headaches, but he did have 1 seizure several weeks after surgery. If you ask him, the worst part of the entire ordeal was not driving for 6 months. I will keep you in my prayers in the weeks to come.

Hi. You do not know me, but I stumbled across your blog through Kelly's Korner and I just wanted to encourage you and let you know that I am praying for you and your family.

My husband was diagnosed at age 25 with a brain tumor on the right frontal/temporal lobe (affecting his left side post-op). His first surgery was successful and he was in remission for 18 months; but he had a recurrence in June of 2005 and the Lord called him home on June 19th, 2006. I have so much information that I would love to share with you. A brain tumor diagnosis can be very difficult to understand and can be very scary at times.

I don't want to leave a ton of information on here, but I would love to help you with anything I can. I can provide you with info on getting second opinions (which I HIGHLY recommend), info on controlling seizures, info on dealing with insurance companies, and info on just trying to get through this new journey as a wife and caregiver. Mostly though, I would just love to keep praying for you and with you.

If you want to chat or ask questions, you can email me through my blog.

God bless and many prayers to you and your family.
