Andy's surgery update

Alright internet...here is the scoop.
Andy and I woke up this morning about 5. He slept very well, I know because I watched him. Do not worry, I will sleep later.
He is doing well, just a little nervous. I could tell because he was chattier than normal. They took him for his MRI about 7. He asked for some sedation(because he hates the MRI) they said it was too late...it would not start to work until he as almost done. So, he sucked it up became very brave and went in with no sedation. They did give him some cool goggles to wear and watch some ESPN. He said that makes it tolerable.
He was in good spirits, quite calm, which I chalk up to so much prayer. Last night we had a prayer meeting at church. About 70 -80 people showed up for over and hour of prayer specifically for Andy and they surgery today....It was so encouraging.
So they finally took him away for surgery about 9:15 or 9:30ish. They say about 3 hours or so.
Please continue to pray. For specifics scroll down to my previous post and read them there. Today will be long, but I will try to update as much as possible.

Andy and Cary I am praying for you today! I feel your pain and your faith in God. 14 years ago my 20 year old son, Tony died of cancer. 5 1/2 years ago, my husband died of cancer. But God is so good to me and even in hard, extremely painful times, I can praise Him because He is God, my Creator, Sustainer, my Joy, Peace, Friend, ever present Help, My Lord and Master and my Everything!! I just found your blog today and haven't read anything except this post and about your sweet baby girl, but please know you are in my prayers and on my mind!

I know it's never the same, but we have walked a somewhat similar road. A few years ago, my husband woke up to a tumor on his neck, that was cancerous. He has now been cancer free for two years! Praise Jesus! In the meantime, I was very ill with no diagnosis. I was finally diagnosed a year ago with epilepsy. I just had brain surgery in November and am home on disability b/c Tx won't let me drive until I'm seizure free for 6 mos. I had a seizure this morning. So, the count starts over daily. If you ever want to talk, just send me your e-mail and we can connect. Or, you can read each of our blogs. Psalm 112 is his journey and Foxhole is more this one that I've been on...

I am so sorry you are going through this. My dad suffered from seizures for a year before they found a "tumor" on his left frontal lobe. It wasn't exactly a tumor but I'm not quite sure what it was. My dad has been seizure free since October for the first time in almost two years. I will be praying for you.

Gotta a lot a love for ya Andy, I'm proud about the MRI thing especially, I'm not scared of tight spaces and I don't like it. Waiting for the word, hoping and praying to God that this is over and done with soon and that God completely heals this thing.

Just found you through Kelly's Korner. I am praying like crazy for you and your husband. As well as the m.d.'s and nurses. If you are in Indy (which I am gathering from your post about Pottery BarnKids-i too live in indy and 7 mos. preggo) then you most likely have some of the best neurosurgeons in the country. I thank God in advance for the miracle he is working in your lives.

I just came across your blog and I have spent the last hour or so reading your past entries.

Caden was such a beautiful baby. I just got tears in my eyes looking through all your pictures of her.

I, too, know what it's like to lose a child. It's heartbreaking a peaceful all at the same time.

You and your husband will be in my prayers.
