Look who we met today!

it's a

Boy!

Ryder Andrew Chastain
looks healthy and right on target to
arrive mid to late January!

Praise God with us, dear friends, for blessing us with a healthy and beautiful baby boy. We are so thankful to this addition to our family and cannot wait to see his face and hold him close. Seeing him today brought us such joy and excitement. We are thrilled Rigg gets a brother and we, well we, get a SON!

We might have just "met" our son today, but we know that God knew all along "who" Ryder was and "who" Ryder is going to be...Praise and Honor and Glory to Him who deserves nothing less then our all!

Psalm 139 1-16

O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Congrats! Love the name! All three times, I was going to use the name Andrew, but I had all girls! It's a family name, but I just love that it means "gift from God." Very appropriate. :) Personally, I think same sex family are easier. (this is coming from someone with 3 girls and 3 stepdaughters.) lol

Cari and Captain! Congratulations. I voted girl too. But God knows that Rigg needs a bro. Someone he can wrestle with and beat his chest like a tarzan with... hey? How cool. So good. Thank you so much for that verse. You have no idea how I personally needed to hear that today. Your blog ministers to me in so many ways! I also wanted you to know that some of the kids in our children's ministry did a human performance in church to that song you posted, "SAFE" by Phil Wickham. It was awesome. Thanks for sharing what God lays on your heart. Peace girlfriend, - Jen

Congrats! Boy or girl doesn't matter, as long as the baby is healthy and he is!

Awesome! And I love the name, too! Congratulations on both the wrapping up (soon, I hope) of your legal issues and the pending birth of your new son. I couldn't be more tickled!
